George Geissler

George started with a blank having the outside turned pretty much to the final shape.
This was mounted in the chuck to allow coring out the interior. George did not use one of the common coring tools,
instead he used a straight tool that took out a conical section.

He then cleaned up the inside making a curved surface to track the outside with a relatively constant thickness. This part was fairly standard turning.
He then reversed the bowl. At this point, the bowl had a relatively large and flat bottom. George turned this into a ring.
He marked the ring into individual segments and then started carving out the waste material between what would become the feet.
