Tom starts off with a pice of dry round stock. Here he is showing us how to sharpen the texturing tool.
Texture is added. He likes to separate textures with lines.

Tom trues up his plastic stock. The plastic is used as a soft chuck for the tops bottom.

He puts texture on the top then prepares for drilling.

The stem is then turned using another soft chuck. A small tenon is turned to fit into the drilled bottom.

Bottom is glued on. Finishing the stem.

Finished - still in soft chuck.

End product.

My daughter would love to scatter these all over the house.

He also showed us other techniques and added color. Wow that really pops.
Tom thanks so much for the demo. Great stuff!
