Sonny Jones Demo

Sonny Jones getting ready to start the snowman demo. Sonny first starts by spliting up the snowmans head, middle, bottom sections.
See Download section for measurements.

Parting tool is used to further define his measurements.                                Here he is marking where nose and arms will be placed.

This is how it should look.                                                                             A drill is used to make holes for nose and arms.

Next he rounds the edges with spindle gouge.                                             This is how it looks after being sanded.

Sonny using triple E.                                                  This is a good time to finish the bottom before parting off the lathe.

Time for parting leaving behind a tennon for hat to be inserted on.

Sonny getting the basic shape for the hat.                                                              Cleaning the bottom before drilling.

Drilling.                                                                    After sanding and applying finish. Time to part off the hat.

Sonny reverse jams the hat to complete the top.                                         Snowmans carrot nose is made from a wooden kabob skewer.
He then colors it orange with marker.

Snowmen are finished with sticks for arms, marker for eyes and buttons.
Final touch he puts a scarf on them for the winter.

Thank you for your time to show us your project.
