A homemade steady rest is used to reduce vibration as Ed begins to hollow the bowl of the goblet.  He first uses a drill to determing the proper depth.
Ed uses a cardboard template to size the inside of the goblet.

A third template is used to check the profile.  You can also see the jam chuck mounted to the tail stock to steady the goblet while it is being turned.

A skew is used to get an ultra smooth cut.
