Club Info
Monthly meetings are held at Woodcraft (store) located on Lehigh Street, Allentown, Pennsylvania. The LVW club meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 7:00-9:30pm. Meetings entail discussion on various turning topics, in addition to having live demonstrations by members and/or local artists. Members are encouraged to share their own work and discuss the process of how their demonstrated piece was achieved.
For those that are new, have no fear.. It's not a requirement that you share your work!
Anyone interested in turning is always welcome to join our group!
One of the benefits of having a group of turners is that members are open to new ideas and suggestions in their quest of turning that "perfect piece."
On occasion Bill Schleif (current LVWT Club president) challenges the members to step outside of their "comfort zone" and complete a President's Challenge.
An example of the "President's Challenge" could be to create a lidded box or a multi-axis turning.
Membership to LVWT Club is $20.00 per year. Membership fees help to cover the cost of demonstrations and also allows you to have use of the library whereby you can borrow books and/or videos related to wood turning.
